Palestine in the conscience/an artistic message of solidarity against the Zionist aggression.
In an exclusive statement to Al-Yamamah magazine, Saudi visual artist Dunya Al-Saleh, a participant in the exhibition, said, “I am honored to participate in this exhibition as the simplest expression of my solidarity and support for our Palestinian brothers and sisters in Gaza and all of Palestine in the face of the brutal aggression and genocide they have been subjected to by the Israeli occupation for nearly a month. This is, of course, my position and the position of my nation, both leadership and people, which remains steadfast in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of their free and independent state on their national soil, and to live in security, stability, and peace with all peoples.” The region. Dunia Al-Saleh added, “Regarding the works I am participating with in the “Palestine in the Heart” exhibition, I have two entries, each bearing the title of Palestine. The first one I completed in 2020 and executed in oil paints on tulle measuring 80 x 120 cm, using white, black, and a range of grays, which embody the conflict and the contradictions of good and evil, peace and war. In this work, I embodied the suffering of a homeland and a people torn apart by the occupation, but who remained steadfast in their demand to reclaim their lands and their violated dignity.” The second painting was created in light of the recent events in the Gaza Strip. It was executed in acrylics on 60 x 50 cm canvas. In this work, I wanted to depict Palestine in its most vibrant and beautiful colors, hoping that this vision might become a reality and that we might soon awaken to a free, proud, radiant, and beautiful Palestine, just as we envision it. Finally, through Al-Yamamah magazine, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the leadership and members of the Syndicate of Fine Artists for hosting me in this exhibition.
